Products
Speed ââQueen makes various residential and commercial products, ranging from 25-pound (11 kg) tumbler to 250-pound (110-kg) washer-extractor, and dryer. Its commercial machine is a popular brand for laundry, apartment buildings and hotels.
As summarized by the Wirecutter product review website in 2018, the Queen's top-loader washers have a reputation for being "wasteful and ineffective", requiring more energy and water than modern front-loading washing machines, yet on the other hand is regarded as "very durable and irreversible", with fans also praising their ability to thoroughly clean the very dirty work clothes. The design changes of 2018 introduce what the company describes as a "very different" washing mechanism, leaving a separate agitator and tub movement in which Queen's Speed ââwashing machines are now known.

History
The company was founded in 1908 by Joe Barlow and John Seelig as Barlow & amp; Seelig Manufacturing. They start by taking the existing engine design and fixing it. In 1922, Speed ââQueen was the first company to introduce a washing machine with a nickel copper tub. The brand name "Speed ââQueen" was created in 1928. During World War II, it switched production to support the war effort, produced 20 mm shells, and spare parts for aircraft, tanks and weapons. Later, it was sold to McGraw-Edison Company (which also owned Eskimo and Toastmaster fans), and then to Raytheon. In 1998, Raytheon Commercial Laundry, owner of Queen's Speed ââbrand, was sold to Alliance Laundry Systems.
