Then Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is assigned the task to give shape to this luxury train. About 900 layouts were prepared by the engineers before finalizing the design. The architect Kusum Pendse along with 200 carpenters inevitably worked hard to complete the design of these train trainers. The process takes about 4 months. Finally on January 23, 2008, Golden Chariot was unveiled on a railway lined with classic purple and gold colors symbolizing the elegance and celebration of the Karnataka golden celebrations. The inauguration ceremony was held at Yeshwanthpur Railway Station, where President Pratibha Devisingh Patil stopped from the train.
