Modern river boat

On March 1, 2017, American Cruise Lines announced a new class of five new river boats. Unlike the current ACLs of four river boats, new ships will become more modern varieties commonly found in European rivers than the Victorian current paddewewer styles currently deployed. The new ships will be four high decks, 345 feet (105 m) long, and carry 200 passengers. The design style is similar to the upcoming coastal cruises American Constellation and American Constitution . The ships will feature private balconies, enlarged cabins, and bathroom amenities better suited to those in hotel rooms. ACL has not released an appropriate route or river system for new vessels, but the first vessel is expected to enter service by 2018 and is currently under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding.

At the end of February 2018, the company announced the start of the second shipbuilding. He is expected to enter service in the summer of 2019, while the new first-class vessel, Song America, will take its maiden voyage in October 2018.
