Plot
The cartoon is about Peabody, who is the most intelligent being there. Peabody has accomplished many things in his life as business king, inventor, scientist, Nobel laureate, greed, and Olympic medalist twice. Peabody became sad and lonely and decided to adopt his own son. In an alley, he meets Sherman (voiced by Walter Tetley), a bespectacled, redheaded boy. After saving Sherman from a bunch of bully, Peabody discovers that Sherman is an orphan and decides to adopt him.
After court appearances and talks with the President and government, Peabody became the new Sherman guardian. Mr. Peabody says Sherman does not call him "Daddy" and calls him by his name, "Mr. Peabody", or, when speaking informally, "Peabody".
Believing that boys need running space, Peabody created the WABAC time machine as a birthday present for Sherman. He and Sherman go back in time to see Roman in Latin; Peabody added a series of translators to the machine so everyone seemed to speak English. They saw the Romans again and learned that he was a used trainer. Their next trip is to see Ben Franklin fly his kite proving that lightning is electricity, but Peabody and Sherman find that they can not interact with the past. Peabody made some adjustments again, turning WABAC into a "must-have machine". This causes past events to be distorted and outdated and famous people to behave beyond character. Every cartoon usually ends with Mr. Peabody makes a bad joke.
The caricature of the face and voice of Mr. Peabody, Clifton Webb, whom Mr. Belvedere is an equally arrogant, authoritarian character, and knows everything.

Movies
An animated film based on the characters of Mister Peabody and Sherman has been developed at DreamWorks Animation since 2007. This feature was directed by Rob Minkoff, known as the co-directing The Lion King for Disney. In January 2011, it was announced that a 3-D computer animated film titled Peabody & amp; Sherman will be released on March 14, 2014. Robert Downey, Jr. announced to voice Mr. Peabody, but in March 2012, was replaced by Ty Burrell. Max Charles, the actor who plays the young Peter Parker on The Amazing Spider-Man voiced Sherman. As of June 2012, it was reported that Tuan. Peabody & amp; The release date of Sherman ' has been moved until November 8, 2013. Stephen Colbert voiced Paul Peterson, Penny's father; Leslie Mann voiced Peterson's wife, Patty, and Ariel Winter (Modern Burrell family star) voiced their daughter, Penny. Also joining the cast are Allison Janney and Stephen Tobolowsky. In September 2012, the release date is moved for one week until November 1, 2013. It finally has an official release on March 7, 2014. The film is produced by Alex Schwartz and Denise Cascino, and written by Craig Wright.
The film focuses more on Mr.'s personal life. Peabody and Sherman, who triggered a series of time travel accidents with the WABAC engine, forced the couple to put things on track before the irrevocably fixed space-time continuum.
Different from the show, Mr. Peabody treated Sherman as his beloved son, whom he adopted as a baby rather than a pet and assistant, and his machine was more futuristic with the function of an autonomous aircraft. Also, the third member of the team was introduced, Penny, who was Sherman's rival and then, the best friend and love of interest.

Mr. Peabody is voiced by Chris Parnell, while Max Charles reprises his role as Sherman of the film. In this series, the Peabody family is explored further, with his adoptive parents appearing in the first nine episodes of the season, and Uncle Dukenya is a distant advent in the journey of time in the sixth episode of the fourth season.
Appearance
Television show
- In The Simpsons' fifth special Halloween ("Treehouse of Horror V"), in the Time and Punish segment Homer finds himself able to travel through time using a toaster tool and claims he was "the first non-Brazilian to travel backward at all times" (reference to Carlos Castaneda). He then came to Mr. Peabody (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) and Sherman (voiced by Nancy Cartwright). Mr. Peabody later corrects Homer, saying that he is actually the second. Sherman then agreed with him, just so Mr. Peabody responded with "Calm down, you." Kang and Kodos characters then take on the appearance of Peabody and Sherman (though still in the helm and with their tentacles) due to Homer's intervention with the flow of time.
- In Time Squad , the character of Otto is modeled on Sherman, and Larry is partly on Peabody.
- In the Family Guy episode of The Kiss Seen Around the World, Peter Griffin and Brian Griffin go back in time to see Christopher Columbus. Both are not similar to Mister Peabody and Sherman; The flashback also parodies the event format, with both going back in time and Brian (Mr. Peabody) teaching Peter (Sherman).
Tribute
- The 1985 movie Back to the Future includes a 1955 character named Otis Peabody with a son named Sherman, a tribute to animated characters. Unlike the famous duo, Sherman and Mr. Peabody is hostile to Marty and his time machine, misinterpreting Marty as an evil alien and his DeLorean time machine for a spaceship.
- The Wayback engine, which records an internet webpage that still exists at https://archive.org (USA), is named from Mr. WABAC engine. Peabody.
