The McQueen Family is a fictitious family in the old Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks . The family first appeared in 2006 and her family has been involved in some of the most famous storylines on the show, notably the story of John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) with Craig Dean (Guy Burnet); Jacqui McQueen (Claire Cooper) quail relationship with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard); Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) Niall Rafferty's long-lost son (Barry Sloane) takes revenge on his family by holding them hostage in an abandoned church and blowing it up, eventually killing his half-brother Tina Reilly (Leah Hackett); Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) was pregnant by her cousin Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna) fiancé Calvin Valentine (Ricky Whittle) and then shot him dead on their wedding day; Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) had an affair with her stepfather (Rob Norbuy), Rian Costello (Rob Norbuy), Carl (Paul Opacic); kidnapped by Riley's grandfather, Silas; spying on Riley's second cousin, Mitzee Minniver; Jacqui overcame the death of her husband Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss) in a bus accident, knowing that she had an affair with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and that she got Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis) pregnant; Mercedes stalks Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) and stabs himself and sets him up; Carmel's face damage; Myra faked his own death to escape from the evil husband of his daughter, Mercedes. Queenie McQueen has at least two children, Marlena's daughter and Marguerite. Queenie's husband died of Alzheimer's disease when he was in his 70s, but he lived for nearly 100 years.
Marlena has several children by several different fathers, including Princess Kathleen, Myra, Reenie and Louis's son. Marlena fell pregnant with Kathleen in her early 20s. She married a man named Reggie when she was 24 years old. They have one daughter, Myra. Reggie and Marlena divorced after several arguments and affairs. It is not known who the father of his youngest daughter, Reenie.
At the age of 14, Myra fell because of Martin Brownlow's charm and they started a relationship. They sleep together and Myra is pregnant by Martin, who leaves her. Embarrassed, Marlena forces Myra to keep her pregnancy a secret. When the baby arrived, Myra and Marlena left the baby, named Matthew, on the doorstep of a church with only a note as an explanation. The baby was later treated for Myra's promise to return her son someday. After this, Myra starts a relationship with a man named Billy Alexander and becomes pregnant with his eldest daughter Jacqui one year after he owns Matthew; Jacqui always thought of him as the oldest. Myra chose to keep Jacqui rather than suffer the pain of giving up another child. Myra had her second daughter with Billy a year later and named her Mercedes. Billy left Myra and his daughter as soon as Mercedes was born. At the age of 19, Myra gave birth to Tina after one night standing up with a married man named Marvin Bassman who refused to get involved in her daughter's life. She named her daughter after Tina Turner. Later that year in 1985, Myra met Ricky Bowen and started a relationship with her. Myra has Carmel with Ricky. Two years later, when Ricky and Myra were resting, she gave birth to a son named John Paul by a projection whom she met in a Chester cinema called Iain Naismith, but she abandoned it so she could transition into her female alter-ego. , Sally St. Claire. Myra lies to Ricky and tells him that John Paul is his son. Finally, Myra had Michaela in 1991 by Ricky again. Ricky left the family in 1992 and later married and had another son named Richard.
Myra's sister, Kathleen, had a daughter whom she named Theresa, Theresa's father was believed to be a man named Don, but it was later revealed that Billy Alexander was his father after Kathleen had spent one night with him at the nightclub. It is assumed that Kathleen lied to the Don about Theresa as her daughter.
Louis goes on to join the army and has a son who is also called Louis. Louis Sr. killed in action, this inspired Louis Jr. to follow in his father's footsteps and enlist in the army too.
Reenie was repeatedly raped by harsh Marlena's girlfriend, Derek Clough, whom she kept secret from other members of her family; he impregnated her at the age of 15 and she later gave birth to her daughter Porsche in 1991. Reenie should have given Porsche an adoption but decided against it. For years it was believed by all that Porsche's father was a boy named Mickey, who grew up in the same neighborhood as McQueens. Reenie has two more daughters with Mickey's father allegedly Porsche, she gave birth to Celine in 1994 and finally in 1998, she gave birth to Cleo. When young girls, Mickey was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. Reenie's girlfriend, Pete Buchanan, was the target of Porsche, Celine, and Cleo with varying degrees of abuse, especially those that sexually abused Porsche and Cleo and damaged Celine's confidence. There was one Christmas incident where Derek was drunk and hitting Marlena, eventually breaking his jaw.
Marguerite has at least three children. His son, Victor, is constantly embarrassing and disappointing his family by engaging in crime and drugs. Victor married a woman named Sarah in the late 1980s. Sarah gave birth to Victor's son, Bart. Victor is an unfaithful husband who destroyed his marriage. Sarah left when Bart was five. Immediately after the breakup of his marriage, Victor remarried with a woman named Joan. Joan soon took the responsibility of being Bart's mother and remained loyal to Victor and her son even though Victor took advantage of her good nature and found it difficult to remain faithful. Joan died in 2010. Marguerite's daughter, Breda, has two children from different fathers; daughter of Goldie and son of Sylver. Breda was a strict Catholic woman who married a man named Vinnie. They live on the farm and Vinnie becomes rude to his stepchildren. Sylver eventually kills Vinnie and is sent to prison for it. Goldie gave birth to twins, Prince and Hunter, when she was a teenager in a small romance with Shane Sweeney. Marguerite has at least one other son who died in prison after being fired for arson.

In 2006, Michaela was the first McQueen seen on screen at Hollyoaks . Michaela's first appearance is retconed because she has the last name "Jones" and is declared as living in the rough part of the village with her grandmother. Michaela was later seen in the house of her best friend Amy Barnes' with her father Mike, who embarrassed her daughter, but made Michaela happy. She presses Amy to have sex with her short-term girlfriend, Ste Hay, so her boyfriend, Wayne Tunnicliffe, will not dump her. Michaela claimed to have had sex with her previous boyfriend, Paul, and that a girl should be expelled to attract boys. When Ste dumps Amy, Michaela's evil streak becomes real when she leaves her friend and teases her, before leaving with Wayne and Ste, leaving Amy upset and alone. When Amy stood up to her, they were fighting in the playground. However, the next day Michaela gets her own sense of the medicine when she is thrown out by Wayne. He dumped him with a text message, saying he just went with him because he was easy. Amy and Michaela make peace as friends, but Michaela then leads her to shoplifting. Michaela then in retconn became McQueen with a big family and a mother. The next McQueen to perform is his sister, Mercedes. The couple took off the scam at Evissa, where Mercedes claims to have been injured during the massage. The only McQueen that did not show up was Jacqui, his explanation was that he was jailed for shoplifting. When he finally arrived, he came with an old friend named Davey, who wanted his money from him. Carmel had found this money and spent it with a breast implant. Davey leaves after Jacqui agrees to help her. When he returns, he makes Jacqui marry illegal immigrants, Aleksander Malota. Carmel and Alek fall for each other and start having an affair, as Jacqui falls in love with Tony Hutchinson. Being the only male, John Paul seems to be pressured to "keep his family name". His family has diverse opinions when he comes out as gay. He started a relationship with his best friend, Craig Dean. Their affair began one of the most popular couples' shows known by fans as McDean.
Mercedes has started a relationship with Russ Owen and they become engaged. Tina is also engaged to Dom Reilly. The couple finally married double, Russ and Mercedes marriage only briefly when he found out that he had sex with Warren Fox. Michaela started smoking marijuana, under the influence of Ste Hay and Nige Foster. After their affairs were revealed, John Paul and Craig decided to go to Dublin, but after realizing that Craig could not cope with his sexuality, John Paul left him at the airport. Jacqui and Tony start trying to find a child. When she was pregnant, Jacqui lost her baby and was told she could not have children. Tony becomes anxious when everyone thinks Alek is the baby's father. Carmel decides to run away with Alek, but he can not take her away from his family to leave her. Jacqui was surprised to learn that Tony had a ten-year-old son named Harry Thomson. She becomes increasingly frustrated and jealous and tells Tony to choose between her and her son. After he picked Harry, Jacqui left him. By this time, the drunken Mercedes entertained Tony and the two had sex. Mercedes fell pregnant and decided to have an abortion. Jacqui begs him to have a baby for her, not realizing it's Tony's. Knowing this, Mercedes went ahead with an abortion that ruined Jacqui. Myra offers her as a surrogate mother for Jacqui; However, aware of Myra having to undergo another pregnancy, Jacqui refused. Tina then became a substitute. Having disregarded Dom, Tina had sex with Russ.
A stranger arrives at Hollyoaks as the new hairdresser at Evissa. Niall Rafferty was soon revealed as the secret son of Myra, whom he was forced to surrender when he was 14. Niall befriends most of McQueens but falls under Jacqui's suspicion. He immediately began to devise a revenge plan. The local pastor, Kieron Hobbs, arrived to stay with The McQueens. Soon after this, he and John Paul started a secret relationship. Tina becomes pregnant, but soon finds Russ is her biological father. Niall injects Michaela with heroin to make her family believe she is an addict. Niall begins to have feelings for Steph Dean, and is jealous when he gets engaged to Max Cunningham. Carmel started a relationship with Calvin Valentine, with whom he was engaged. Niall is desperate on Steph and Max's wedding day. He ends up accidentally running and killing Max as a result of his anger. Tina decides to give her unborn child for adoption, Niall, hearing this, finally pushing her down the stairs. Tina gave birth to Max McQueen and as the cause and had to undergo an emergency hysterectomy. Because of this, Tina decides to keep Max to herself because she can never have her own child. Niall and Steph immediately start the relationship. The couple were caught by John Paul and Kieron, who also resumed their affairs.
Myra decided to track her first son was born with the help of Kieron. Kieron traces Mother's adoptive mother, who then shows him a photo of Niall. Craig returns to Hollyoaks to win back John Paul, only to find him engaged to Kieron. Kieron approached Niall with the picture. Niall reveals the truth and agrees to confess to Myra. Panicked, Niall tied Kieron beer with pills. Kieron fainted and died in his arms. Niall covers death by making her look like a suicide. Niall gets angry when John Paul decides to go to Dublin with Craig. Niall puts the pill in John Paul's beer and tries to kill him, but John Paul exchanges their drink after spilling Niall's. Mercedes had started a relationship with Malachy Fisher, but was shocked to learn that he had HIV. Niall finds Jack Osborne responsible for the imprisonment of his real father Martin. Martin died in prison as a result of his conviction. Niall then attacks Jack and tells who he really is. Niall then takes his final vengeance on McQueens by kidnapping them one by one and holding them as hostages in the church he left behind. The injured Jack sought the help of Darren Osborne, Tony and Dom to save McQueens. With truth revealed, Niall asked Myra 6 questions. For each he is right, he can choose one of his children to live and every time he is wrong, he can choose one to die. Myra finally gets the two questions right. Mercedes told Myra to choose her to die because she might have HIV; she later admitted to Jacqui that she had sex with Tony. John Paul also offered to die. Myra then made a tough decision and chose Jacqui and Carmel to die, thus leaving Michaela and Tina alive. Jack, Darren, Tony and Dom walk to the church just as Niall detonates the bomb.
The church lay the ruins after the explosion. A trapped Myra has a heart to heart with Niall and forgive her. A statue then falls, purportedly kills Niall. The McQueens all escape, until they find Tina tragically killed after being destroyed by the rubble. Jacqui decides to raise Max as his own, but refuses to forgive Tony, Mercedes, or Myra. John Paul and Craig eventually moved to Dublin shortly after the incident. McQueens was told that Niall was alive and had run away from the church. Jacqui tells Russ that he can see his son whenever he wants, but his promise is quickly broken. Mercedes and Malachy end up married in Belfast. Niall returns and follows Steph to Scotland. After a failed attempt at trying to win his back, Niall committed suicide by dropping on a cliff. McQueens was notified and agreed not to be sad. Theresa, Myra's nephew, arrives at Hollyoaks to live with his family, who are still taking a devastated part of their lives. On her arrival, Theresa is under age having sex with Tony, who does not know her true age. Jacqui got him arrested for being revenge for having sex with Mercedes, but dropped the charges. Mercedes was nervous when his HIV test came back, but the results were negative. Russ became increasingly in need of Max, and intended to kidnap her. Finally, Russ did so to make Jacqui crush and angry at Carmel for letting him carry it. Theresa started a secret relationship with Barry Newton, this then developed into a full relationship. Jacqui went to France after seeing Russ to take Max. A few weeks later, he returned without Max. He cringed when he learned that Tony had started a relationship with Cindy Cunningham, and he then started a relationship with Rhys Ashworth. In 2011, Jacqui kissed Rhys best friend, Gilly, following an argument; But Gilly then raped her. Gilly denied the allegations and was released from prison sentence, but he finally acknowledged it and moved on. In late 2009, Theresa's mother Kathleen McQueen appeared. In August 2010, Bart McQueen's cousin moved with the family, and Michaela moved to study journalism the same month, but returned a year later.
Calvin had an affair in Carmel with his sister Mercedes and Theresa's cousin, and eventually made her pregnant. Calvin refused to stay with Theresa and their new baby, Kathleen Khloe McQueen, and in retaliation. There, Calvin was shot dead at his second marriage to Carmel. McQueen found Theresa's guilt despite agreeing to protect her. Carmel was devastated by Theresa's actions despite agreeing not to inform the police, knowing that Kati would be taken for care. They framed Kyle's local gangster as a killer, and he died.
Despite the negative HIV outcome, Mercedes lied that they were positive and Malachy was furious when he discovered the truth. Malachy then died in the fire. After this, Mercedes became engaged to rich player Riley Costello, but started having an affair with his father, Carl Costello. On their wedding day, Mercedes finally admits the affair and Riley end their marriage. Mercedes, who was very pregnant with Riley's son, was later kidnapped by Riley's serial killer, Silas Blissett, and was taken hostage in the basement, with Silas promising to kill her once her baby was born. Silas was eventually exposed and captured, however and Mercedes was rescued and gave birth to Bobby's baby, though Riley refused to bring him back. Riley starts dating Mitzeee Minniver and in an attempt to share it, Mercedes stabs himself and frames Mitzeee for it, so Mitzeee goes to jail and Mercedes and Riley return together. Myra discovers Mercedes lies, however, and reports them to the police. On the same day, Riley was accidentally shot dead, and Mercedes used his death to escape imprisonment, blaming Riley's stabbing.
In 2012, Jacqui and Rhys adopt homeless teenagers Phoebe McQueen and Rhys are killed in a bus crash later this year, making Jacqui confused and even more upset when she finds her having an affair with Cindy Cunningham. Then in 2012, John Paul returns home from Dublin for Christmas and the same day a baby is found outdoors. Myra named the baby Jesus, even though she knew she had to go to social services. John Paul later revealed that the baby was his and Craig's. John Paul also reveals how he and Craig have broken up. She decided to look after the baby and named him Matthew Jesus McQueen. That same year, Nana McQueen moved with family and Michaela went again to go on tour with her boyfriend band. Jacqui got into trouble with Trevor Royale's gangsters when he and his business partner Trudy Ryan tried to cheat him with extra money after Mercedes was kidnapped by Clare Devine who asked Ã, £ 200,000 from McQueen in exchange for Mercedes life. She and Phoebe later learned that Trevor was smuggling the illegal immigrants Jacqui had given him. Jacqui, realizing that Trevor would hunt him for what he had done, was forced to flee the country to protect his family from Trevor's revenge and leave, saying good-bye to Tony, who had been reconciled with him. Compassion then found Jacqui at Allecante and said goodbye to his sister. The McQueens worked with Jim McGinn and Mercedes' new boyfriend, Dr Browning to convince Trevor that Jacqui was dead and managed to do so, using the fake coffin and Jane Doe's corpse from the hospital. Myra disrupts Mercedes and Browning's relationship when she finds out that she killed Lynsey Nolan. Browning quietly tries to get Trevor to kill Myra, even trying to do it himself. Browning finally convinces Trevor when he tells him that Jacqui is still alive. On 3 September 2013, Mercedes goes to cover, pretending to love her husband, Doctor Browning after him, Myra and Jim McGinn knowing that he has paid Trevor to kill Myra. He found that the murder took place sooner than planned but Myra managed to escape to the Church where he called his family: Carmel, John Paul, Theresa, Phoebe, Matthew, Kati and Nana, and said goodbye while crying, commenting that he had already say goodbye to Mercedes and call Michaela. Doctor Browning discovered that Mercy lied and raced to dock to stop Myra from escaping in a boat organized by Jim. He comes on time and Myra asks him to think of Mercedes and his sons but Browning pulls the trigger and Myra degenerates into the ocean, although he is then shown alive, after wearing a bulletproof vest while standing with Browning. Myra then escaped from the country after saying goodbye to John Paul. Doctor Browning was later arrested when police arrived after he shot Myra. A few weeks later, Doctor Browning tried to kill himself to get out of jail. When he escapes the ambulance to take him to the hospital, he arrives at Hollyoaks, where he runs Clare Devine, kills him. He then catches Mercedes and takes him back to the McQueen family home. Unknown Doctor Browning and Mercedes, Cindy and Lindsey followed them and the trio finally killed Doctor Browning in self-defense. They then hid the body in the attic of Mercedes house but everyone at home started noticing the terrible smell, they moved the body into the Slice Price freezer. Then, with Freddie Roscoe's help, they pushed Doctor Browning's car, inside inside, off the cliff and then burned it to look like suicide and also set it up for D.I. Trent Murder. Also, that week, Theresa traveled with her cousin, Louis McQueen.
In 2014, Carmel discovered that he had chlamydia. He initially believed that his girlfriend Jim had betrayed him and had given him illness but later learned that he had been having chlamydia for the past four years after Theresa revealed that he gave Chlamydia to Calvin, who in turn gave it to Carmel, also revealed that Carmel is now infertile. Carmel then begins enmity with Theresa and also reunited with Jim, who proposes to her. Later, Carmel exposes Theresa's emails proving that Theresa is pretending to be her ex-girlfriend, Dodger, who died in Texas, eventually destroying Dodger and Theresa. This upsets Theresa, who then makes a drunk Jim to sleep in his bed and make it look like the couple had sex but Nana soon revealed the truth. Carmel then got in touch with Calvin's brother, Sonny Valentine, who is now a policeman and reveals to him that Theresa killed Calvin. The couple then hatched a plan to keep Kati from Theresa. The police tried to arrest Theresa for Calvin's murder, but he fled, taking Kati with him. Later that month, John Paul was raped by Finn O'Connor. The following month, Jim is stabbed to death by Fraser Black, which makes him look like Jim is responsible for all his crimes. This destroys Carmel, who then starts a relationship with Sonny, who is then engaged to him. After Jim's death, Myra returns to visit the family, revealing that he lives with Jacqui in Spain. Myra then went on the same night. John Paul was later arrested for attacking Robbie Roscoe. When he came out a few months later, he started a relationship with Ste Hay. Nana then makes her family financially difficult and then they are expelled. Their house was immediately purchased by Grace Black, who agreed to let them rent it. Later, Mercedes bought a third of The Loft as part of a scheme with Freddie, which angers Angers. Mercedes then started a relationship with Freddie but soon ended after Mercedes found Freddie and Lindsey in bed together. In August, John Paul finally confessed to his family about his rape trial and Finn was arrested by the police, as well as Theresa in touch with his mother, Kathleen, to help Theresa get rid of Sonny. Kathleen later discovers that Sonny is an alcoholic, and she then makes a partnership with Phoebe and Mercedes to get rid of her. Sonny then brutally attacked Kathleen and told her family that she had stolen Carmel's money. In an effort to get rid of Sonny, Myra makes plans with Mercedes and Phoebe to drive her to the lake and handcuff her. When they arrived at the lake, Myra, Mercedes and Phoebe all left the car, though Myra accidentally left the handbrake and the car rolled into the water with Sonny inside. Later, Mercedes and Phoebe visited Theresa at her hideout, where Theresa revealed that she was pregnant. Then, the accusation against Theresa was dropped after McQueen made it look as though Sonny manipulated Theresa to acknowledge Calvin's murder, and she went on to give birth to the baby girl Dodger Savage, Myra-Pocahontas Savage-McQueen. Theresa finally realizes that someone framed her to look like a bad mother, and Carmel became the main suspect. Then it happens that Phoebe framed Theresa, and she reveals that she works for Sonny, who is actually living and planning revenge on all McQueens. Phoebe continues to manipulate the situation for Sonny, who eventually culminates in the battle of Theresa and Carmel and Myra throwing Carmel out. Phoebe then manipulates Carmel to go with Kati, though while driving through the village lane, Carmel realizes that she is being followed. When he gets out of his car to see who it is, it becomes Sonny, believing that he has brought Kati with him. It appears that Carmel has actually brought a doll, and Sonny chases it through the woods. Carmel then disappeared for several days without explanation.
In November 2014, Porsche Myra nephew arrives to announce that she is engaged to Lockie Campbell, who made John Paul disgust. Eventually, Carmel reappears in the village, goes to the police and tells them what Sonny did to him. She explained that she could not remember where he took her, and she is happy to be reunited with Myra, Phoebe, Theresa, Mercedes, Nana, John Paul, and Porsche. When planning for a wedding Porsche for Lockie, Carmel slipped away and called Sonny, told him that all would be on the train McQueens party for a wedding reception Porsche and Lockie, implying that they were planning to kidnap Kati. On the wedding day, Carmel driving to the location where Sonny was, and explained that she could not go with her Kati steal, and back to weddings. Back in the church, John Paul told Porsche that Lockie had tried to kiss her, but they remained married. During the party wagon, Theresa discovered that Carmel planned to kidnap Kati and tell the whole family and they did not admit it. Unbeknownst to the McQueen family, Sonny was on the train and when Phoebe watched him, he was brutally attacked him and left locked in the toilet. After attacking Phoebe, Sonny grabs Theresa and hangs it outside the train, in an attempt to kill her. Meanwhile, Sienna Blake's car is trapped in the railroad after a collision with her father, Patrick, and she and Maxine Minniver are frightened when they see McQueen's train coming towards them. The two women got out of the car just in time, as the train hit the cars and tracks from the track and turned sideways.
Carmel was the first to awaken from the unconscious, and noticed his cousin, Celine who was trapped under the table, and helped him out. He then realizes that Myra has badly injured her leg, while Porsche emerges from the rubble. Mercedes then appeared, as did Lockie's brother, Cameron. Lockie and John Paul, however, were trapped under the ruins in different parts of the train, while Dodger had wounded his head. Carmel then gets out of the train to try to get help, while Sienna enters the ruins to pick up Dodger. Sonny and Theresa are both trapped separately from the rest of the party, and when Theresa regains her consciousness, she tries to escape from Sonny but she also wakes and makes her hostage in ruins. When Mercedes and Cameron both rescued Phoebe from the ruins, the fire department arrived and helped most of the party. Lockie and John Paul were later rescued by fire brigades, which deprived Porsche. Carmel realizes that Sonny has Theresa and runs back to the ruins, and after seeing the leaking gas canister, she assures Sonny that they have a future together to manipulate her, which makes her loosen her grip on Theresa who escaped like a burst train, sends Theresa and most of the party wedding fly across the railroad tracks. Upon regaining consciousness, Theresa returns to the wreck, where she finds Carmel trapped under heavy debris. Carmel confessed to Theresa that she would run away with Kati and Sonny, and Theresa forgave her. They finally amend their past feuds before Myra, Mercedes and Phoebe all enter the wreck to say their farewell to Carmel, apologizing for their harsh words. After telling the family that he forgave them for the horrible things they told him, Carmel asked Myra to tell his story, and he died with his family around him. John Paul then enters the wreck and is desperate to find his sister dead, for he has never had a chance to apologize for the things he says to him. At the hospital, John Paul reveals the sad news of Carmel's death to Nana in despair, and Mercedes forces Myra to choose between him and Theresa, because Mercedes believes that Theresa destroyed the last years of Carmel's life.
The following week, Myra revealed that she refused to choose between Mercedes and Theresa, and when Mercedes attacked Myra to vote, both Nana and John Paul asked Mercedes to leave for a few days. When Carmel's body was taken to McQueen's household, Nana noticed that the ring on her finger was gone, and the whole family immediately blamed Mercedes. Mercedes disgusted and revealed to McQueens how much he loved Carmel, before leaving home. On the day of Carmel's funeral, Mercedes saw Freddie and Lindsey kissing at the hospital after Lindsey gave birth to Freddie's brother, Joe's baby boy. Mercedes blackmailed Freddie to buy his share of The Loft; however, he then visited Grace and offered his share of The Loft as well, in an attempt to see who would pay more so he could leave the country for Alicante. Mercedes then gets drunk and arrives at Carmel's funeral, throwing abuse at Myra, Theresa and Phoebe, before Myra reveals that he hopes Mercedes is dead, not Carmel. Mercedes then escaped from the church, destroyed. Back at McQueen's household, Mercedes waited for Freddie or Grace to come with the highest amount of money, but an unknown figure entered the house, grabbed a knife and stabbed Mercedes to death. Mercedes's body was then seen dragged out of the house, and the figure mopped all his blood. The figure was later revealed to be Freddie. Meanwhile, under Carmel's funeral, Porsche reveals that he is the culprit who stole Carmel's ring, and not Mercedes. The whole family then rushes home to try and catch Mercedes on time, but when he is not there, they all believe he has gone to Alicante. The next day, Phoebe suspects the existence of Mercedes and calls the police, with old friend D.S Thorpe questioning Myra. She explains that Phoebe is just too dramatic, and when she spills a cup of tea, D.S Thorpe sees blood on the floor, and asks for forensic scientists. He later revealed that he believed that Mercedes had been killed in the kitchen, much to Myra's despair. Later that day, D.S Thorpe caught Freddie for killing Mercedes. However, Lindsey's sister, Kim Butterfield, gives Freddie a fake alibi, which makes Freddie out of the frame. The police then asked Porsche to reconstruct the last movement of Mercedes, which he reluctantly agreed to find the Mercedes killer. Grace was suspicious of Freddie and confronted him on The Loft's balcony, where he continued to deny the murder of Mercedes, and after plainly pushing him away, he fell off the balcony and was hospitalized.
When Joe confronts Freddie about Mercedes's murder, they do not realize that Myra hears everything, until he makes a sound when he leaves. Freddie then tried to convince Myra that he had nothing to do with the murder of Mercedes, whom Myra rejected. Myra left the village once more. Elsewhere, Theresa agrees to become a kidney donor for Sienna's teenage daughter, Nico Blake. Porsche kept trying to talk Theresa out of it, as they believed that Sienna caused a train accident that killed Carmel. Theresa explains that Carmel will want her to be a good person, but Porsche reminds Theresa of the risks and if she dies, then who will take care of her children. Theresa then tells Nico and Sienna that she can not be a donor, with Sienna insulting Theresa. After that, Theresa had a change of heart and decided to become Nico's donor, but after the surgery, Theresa was given too much morphine and had to be examined by Dr. Charles S'avage. It is then revealed that Sienna gave Theresa an overdose because she did not want Theresa too close to her twin brother, Dodger. Celine, meanwhile, has been hired by the local hospital and befriended Kim and Tegan Lomax.
Then it was revealed that Mercedes was actually alive, and faked his death as part of the money scam. He returned to the village, but not long after Febe was killed by serial killer Lindsey Butterfield. Later, when Porsche's sister and Celine, Cleo, Reenie's mother and Pete's stepfather arrived, Porsche revealed that Pete sexually harassed her and Cleo when they were little and made Celine feel insecure, but her family forgave her. Pete and Cleo secretly started a sick affair, and when discovered, Celine tried to kill Pete. Pete then runs away and starts living in a van. Cleo visits her and they continue their affair. Reenie reveals that Nana's ex-boyfriend, Derek, also tortured him when he was younger and as a result of this revelation, Porsche, Reenie, and Nana finally left the village with Porsche after parting with Lockie after he started separate affairs with both Mercedes and John Paul. Myra then returns to the village with her new boyfriend, Spanish player Diego. Theresa left the village a few months later to start a new life in Spain.
Mercedes revealed that she was pregnant with baby Joe Roscoe and they started the relationship but Joe returned with his ex-wife Lindsey, realizing he still loves her. When Joe discovers that Lindsey is a serial killer, Lindsey escapes and their relationship ends. Bart was killed by Warren Fox and, with the help of Sienna Blake, his body was hidden in Sally's attic until they could move him to Amy Barnes's recently excavated tomb.
John Paul decided to leave town with Matthew for a teaching position in Singapore. Not long after the two left the village, it was revealed that he and Craig had reunited and raised their son in Singapore.
