Histori
The Queens Center opened on 12 September 1973, on land previously occupied by children's amusement parks called Fairyland, a supermarket, and a car park; the original anchor tenant is Abraham & Straus and Ohrbach. The mall experienced a major expansion from 2002 to 2004, almost double its size when the original mall was renovated and other wings were added on 92nd Street.
Current anchor tenants are Macy's and JCPenney. In addition, it has a great food court in the basement.
For a limited time during the 2006 Christmas shopping season, Macy's location in Queens Center is open 24 hours a day, being the first to do so. Since then, he has hours of operation throughout the day during every Christmas shopping season.
