The Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Toronto is a complex consisting of 204-meter, 55-story residential and 125-meter condominium tower, 30-storey hotel tower located in Yorkville district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada , which opens on October 5, 2012. Located on 60 Yorkville Avenue, at the intersection with Bay Street, the complex is one block east of the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto on 21 Avenue Road before.

The complex was designed by Peter Clewes of architectsAlliance, and developed by Menkes Development Inc. The taller tower is the tenth tallest building in Toronto, but by 2015 its position has fallen to 15 because other higher buildings are completed. The location was formerly a Bay Ford Lincoln dealer and adjacent to Toronto Fire Services Station 312.

Penthouse, which claims the entire 55th floor of the West Residence, sells for C $ 28 million, and is the most expensive condominium sold in Canada.

The 55th floor complex contains 259 hotel rooms and 210 private condo suites. It offers a two-storey spa, CafÃÆ'Â © Boulud and a bar by the owners of the international restaurant and Chef Daniel Boulud, and a glass-covered event room. It was designed by Alliance architect, with Page and Steele as Architect of Record. The project was developed by Bay-Yorkville Developments Ltd., a joint venture of Alcion Ventures, LP, Menkes Developments and Lifetime Homes, and used the Four Seasons trademark under license. [2]

Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the chairman and founder of Four Seasons, Isadore Sharp proclaimed the new location as "... in a separate category, the true Four Seasons in our home town, our flagship hotel." This is an important development for the city of Toronto. [3]

Histori

There are several previous Four Seasons properties at other locations in Toronto.

415 Jarvis Street

The first Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto is Four Seasons Motor Hotel , opened in 1961 at 415 Jarvis Street near Carlton. Built by architect Peter Dickinson, operated as a motor inn before being demolished and replaced by a townhouse.

Lodging in the Park

The next hotel operated by Four Seasons is the Inn on the Park, which has been demolished and replaced by Lexus at Park car dealerships. Four Seasons Sheraton Hotel

Four Seasons Sheraton Hotel

The Four Seasons Sheraton Hotel , opened in 1972, is a joint venture between Four Seasons Issy Sharp and Sheraton founders until 1976, when the connection was disconnected and the hotel was renamed Sheraton Center Toronto Hotel.

21 Avenue Road

The oldest Four Seasons property in town is located on 21 Avenue Road at the crossroads with Yorkville Avenue, consisting of 31-story Brutalist-style towers, and a podium that runs south to Cumberland Avenue. [4] Built in 1972 as Hyatt Regency Toronto , it was changed its ownership and was named Four Seasons Hotel Toronto in 1978. It was closed on 28 March 2012.

The structure was sold to Camrost-Felcorp developers and converted to The New Residences of Yorkville Plaza . [5] [6] The hotel facade was renovated with a glass corner balcony, while the existing podium containing the entrance and below-average retail was destroyed and replaced by a new retail complex.

The 21 Avenue Road location is very popular among celebrities when the Toronto International Film Festival is centered in the Yorkville area. [7] However, the chairman and founder of Four Seasons, Isadore Sharp, said that the 21 Avenue Road location "feels like driving into a garage." [8]
