Doctor's Hospital is a hospital located at 170 East End Avenue, between 87 and 88th Street across from Gracie Mansion in Yorkville Manhattan neighborhood. It serves as the primary maternity hospital for the birthplace of Manhattan (Manhattan General serves as it is for downtown Manhattan). It is also known as "fashionable care center for the rich."

History
The 14th floor hospital was established in 1929 as Doctor's Hospital. Patients include Huguette Clark, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mueller, Jacqueline Susann, James Thurber, Clare Boothe Luce, Oveta Culp Hobby and Eugene O'Neill.
Additional names taken care of or those who died at the Doctor's Hospital were Theodore Hardeen, AKA Hardeen, brother and magician Houdini in his own right, who died at the age of 69 years after a routine operation in 1945. Ann Woodward, wife of 'Billy' William Woodward, Jr., was immediately rushed to Doctor's Hospital in 1955 after mistakenly shooting her husband. Billy is part of the 2nd and 3rd generation of the 400 richest families in America. The famous shooting, taking place in October, is commonly known as, "The Shooting of the Century". Ann Woodward's short bed, a few days began shortly after the shooting, stopping the legal authority from interrogating him about a decisive night. By staying in a private room at Doctor's Hospital for treatment for his anxiety, he manages to stop the legal authorities from questioning him about the shootings so that family lawyers can work with police to find a more tasteful way of handling situations involving rich assassins and Woodward name delicate reputation.
It was acquired by Beth Israel Medical Center in 1987.
In 2001, the medical facility has about 210 beds and more than 800 employees. The hospital was closed in August 2004 and sold jointly with two nearest apartment buildings for $ 166.5 million. The building was leveled in 2005 and replaced with 19 new floors, 110 units of residential condominium buildings.
