The World's Fair Marina is a public marina in Flushing Bay, Queens, New York. Located on the north bank of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and operated by the Marine Division at the Department of Parks and Recreation. Marina is located next to a long stretch of 1.4 miles around Flushing Bay and also near LaGuardia Airport and Citi Field.
Marina has more than 250 slips for boats up to 120 feet (37 m) in length, boats and kayak launches, and ferry landing. The ferry landing is currently used by SeaStreak, which provides services to Highlands, New Jersey for selected New York Mets games. The ferry service for baseball games began in 1989 with American Skimmer providing services between Pier 11/Wall Street and East 34th Street Ferry Landing in Manhattan. NY Waterway later began operating a similar ferry service in 1998. The free ferry service operated by New York Water Taxi provides services between Pier 11/Wall Street and East 34th Street Ferry Landing in Manhattan and World's Fair Marina for US Open, as well as before Mets games.
World History Fair Marina traces back to the boat basin that was built for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Robert Moses has a redesigned and expanded marina to accommodate 800 boats for the 1964 New York World Expo, held at the same location. The Department of Parks has run a marina since 1999. Previously, it was run by private concessionaires.
Parking for the marina is available in many places on the Grand Central Parkway. The marina administration building built for the 1964 World Exposition is now the site of the New York City Garden Department & Office of Marine Recreation Division and Fair Marina Restaurant Dunia & amp; Banquet hall.
Several party boats and events operate a yacht from Worlds Fair Marina.
