The Queen's Medical Center (known as QMC or Queen's Med ) is an educational hospital located in Nottingham, England. Until February 2012, when it was exceeded by the Royal London Hospital, it was the largest hospital in Britain, and the largest educational hospital in Europe.

History
In 1964 Health Minister Anthony Barber announced in Parliament that Nottingham had been selected for a new education hospital and medical school, with 1200 beds and an annual intake of 100 students. Legal delays with the purchase of a 43-acre site meant construction work did not begin until May 1971. Lack of funding became a serious problem after 1979, and slowed the commissioning of some parts of the hospital. It was well into the 1980s before the project was completed.
Queen's Medical Center (QMC) is the first teaching hospital to be built in the UK. It was officially opened by Queen on July 28, 1977, and acknowledged her first patient in 1978. On April 1, 2006, NHS Trust Health Center, formerly run of the hospital, joined NHS Trust Nottingham City Hospital to form Nottingham University NHS University Trust. In April 2012, QMC was designated the East Midlands Main Trunk Center.

Facilities
The hospital has more than 1300 beds and employs over 6000 people. It has a busy crash and emergency unit, and is a major destination of Lincolnshire & amp; Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, for seriously injured patients. In 2016-17, there is a 195782 emergency presence. Being part of the University of Nottingham, it can call the choice of highly qualified doctors in their respective fields. This is the main hospital in the East Midlands for acute cases. The QMC site also contains Nottingham Medical and Nursing Schools University, Mental Health Wards and Nottingham Private Care Center.
Nottingham's Nottingham Children's Hospital
Nottingham Children's Hospital was founded in 1869 at Russell House. The nursing staff is taken from the Sisters of St. Lucy who caused her was given an unofficial name "St Lucy". In 1899 he moved to a larger place in Forest House, donated by lace producer Thomas Birkin. In 1978, residents became QMC's first patients when they were transferred to the current hospital location in the Eastern Bloc. Hospitals treat around 40,000 children up to 18 years of age each year. It has 116 beds.
Transport
The hospital is located at the intersection of the two-way highway of Nottingham Ring Road (A6514) and east-west A52 and A6200. There is a Medilink bus service, which connects Queen's Drive (Park and Ride) with Queen's Medical Center, Wilkinson Street (for park and ride) and Nottingham City Hospital. Some bus services stop near QMC.
The Queen's Medical Center tram stop, on the Nottingham Express Transit 1 lane, is located between the main South Hospital Block and Maintenance Center. The tram connects QMC with Beeston, Nottingham Station, Nottingham City Center, Basford, Bulwell and Hucknall. Passengers can turn to Line 2 of the tram, which connects Phoenix Park (M1 Junction 26) with Clifton, at Nottingham station.
