Home2 Suites by Hilton was damaged in Fayetteville, North Carolina in December 2009 at its first property, which opened as the premiere of this brand in February 2011. Home2 Suites opened its 50th hotel in 2015. International expansion into Mexico and Canada is expected to continue.

Design and construction
Home2 Suites interior and exterior was originally designed by Cincinnati-based design, architecture and brand strategy company FRCH Design Worldwide. Most of the Home2 Suites hotels will be new construction and follow the standard layout and design model. The property was built in less than a year and has 108 suites, 56,658 total square feet of property, 4,200 square feet (390 m) of community space, 323 square feet (30.0 m 2 ) studio, 490 -square-foot (46Ã, m 2 ) one-bedroom suite, four-story wooden frame construction and building footprint under 2 hectares (8,100 m 2 ).

Unique features
Suite Home2 Suites by Hilton provides separate living and sleeping areas featuring a self-propelled Home2 Suites "work wall" that incorporates a kitchen and a flexible work/media area. Each kitchen is fully equipped, including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee maker, and a seating arrangement for six people. Work/media spaces include queen sofa/bed, flat-screen TV, roll-around ottoman, environmental and task lighting, alarm clock, and removable furniture to create customized living spaces and customizable storage options.
Additional hotel amenities include salt-based pool, rooftop terrace, outdoor seating area, 24-hour business center, 100% pets friendly environment, and an integrated gym and laundry room.

To help address that need, all the properties of Home2 Suites have an open lobby area with a community space of about 4,200 square feet (390 m) called "Oasis". It is designed to create an environment where guests can socialize, and include a communal and individual work zone, 52 "flat screen TV and a complimentary" Inspired Table "breakfast service with customizable options.Other features include Home2 MKT filled with goodies take-away goods, Spin2 Cycle combining laundry and fitness areas, and business zones offering computers, wireless printing and free Wi-Fi access.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a key design feature and an emphasis point for Home2 Suites, with the brand incorporating a range of environmentally conscious operations and facilities into each hotel. Guest suite features a low-flow shower and faucet, compact fluorescent lamps, double toilets, biodegradable food trays, recycled flooring and carpet tiles, Energy Star equipment, bulk toiletries and other sustainable product options. In addition, each hotel has a salt-based pool, surfaces made of recycled content, and landscaping that includes special plants of indigenous people to minimize water use and irrigation needs. The Home2 Suites Hotel will also incorporate the LightStay system at Hilton Worldwide, which measures energy use, water consumption, waste, and carbon output to help minimize the environmental impact of any property. Home2 Suites in Lexington Park, Maryland is the first LEED certified property.
